After completing his technical and urban design studies at the IUAV, he went to work for a leading home and office furnishings manufacturer. He subsequently came into contact with major design firms and designers, thereby launching his career in the world of furnishings.
“When I visited the offices of GI4 in Milan, I often spoke to Pierino about our architecture studies. At the time Pierino was the architecture firm’s new employee; he is now the famous designer Piero Lissoni.”
Twenty years of engineering design, research and project development followed, during which time he developed and expanded his knowledge.
After his experience within the company, he began to promote himself as a designer and design engineer, collaborating with other companies in the furniture and furnishings business, such as Boffi and Poliform, and in various sectors ranging from kitchens and furnishing accessories to technological aluminium products, with established designers such as Carlo Colombo, Karim Rashid and Ross Lovegrove. Several of his products have been used in buildings designed by Armani Casa, Antonio Citterio and Renzo Piano.
This experience led Massimo Luca to deepen his knowledge of materials and in particular aluminium, which he skillfully uses to simultaneously meet both technical and design needs.
